Is there a place to learn Swedish in Texas?

I’m going to Sweden in about two months for a year of school. [High school] And I don’t speak Swedish, I’d like to learn at least the basics, but Rosetta stone is ridiculously expensive and I have yet to find much else in the way of it. Oh, and I was also wondering what might be a good gift to bring a host family? I’m not sure if they’ve children or elders or not.

Bring the family something typical from Texas. Look here:

They have Tex Mex cookbooks, not too expensvie. A nice gift for everyone in the family.

    Lucky you!!

Pimsleur Swedish is a good beginner course and is under $50, so you can at least get started learning without too much investment.

I can help you with your swedish (not the pronunciation though), if you add me: flickan_kim@hotmail.com. But I’ll bet there’s some good sites out there, just search for like learning swedish or something. Good Luck!
