I received a gift card to cover a massage for 1.5 hours, but it doesn’t include gratuity. How much of a tip should I give?
Forgot to mention it covers $55

It depends on the quality. Tipping is not automatic, or at least it shouldn’t be. When I order a steak medium and it comes out well done that tip just got almost erased. If they take care of teh issue quickly and discount my bill then it goes up a little. It depends on the quality of the service.
In the UK, I think 15% is standard if you leave a hairdresser a tip, so I would use that as a guideline. There’s usually a price list at the spa/salon reception so you can use this to find out what 15% would be too.
However, (in the UK at least) I would say it’s fairly unusual to leave a tip for a massage so they might not even be prepared for you to do so.
EDIT: Just seen your edit and realised you’re obviously not in the UK – sorry but hope that gives you some sort of a guideline at least!
15-20% is traditional
, about 15 percent is customary, but you may of course leave more or less, depending on the quality of the service. Leave the tip at the reception desk when you pay your bill rather than giving it directly to the therapist. If you receive multiple services from different people (a massage therapist, a facial esthetician, etc.), leave a separate tip for each of them.
Well it depends on if you get the “total relaxation” wink wink. Then I would suggest a tip of at least 55$.
