What is it like to live in Lapland

Many people are setting up their own winter adventure centres where in the winter months they can make the most of the holiday trade whilst still living in a country that has a lot to offer. The reasons for emigrating are to obtain a better quality of life, to spend more time with the family and to have a better cost of living. Lapland certainly does offer all of these and is one of the most family friendly places there is, locals hold family life very close and insist that spending time with the family is always at the top of the list. Whether it is summer or winter, families will be outdoors, spending as much time together as possible and after all this really is what life is about. We all know that the winters in Lapland are long, lasting over 200 days and that the temperatures are extremely cold. The winter days are short with only about three hour’s sunlight in the winter months providing a great environment for skiing and outdoor pursuits. When the summer arrives it is glorious and has similar temperatures to the U.K with some very nice warm weather. Lapland come July becomes the land of the midnight sun where there is 24 hour light. The days are endless and the walking and scenery in Lapland really is second to none. It has become really popular over the last couple of years for Britons especially, to snap up some of the bargain homes in Swedish Lapland. Although many Britons are not living in Lapland full time, they prefer to spend long periods of time over there whilst getting involved in the winter sports and activities. The main draw for property buyers is the price of homes in Swedish Lapland which compared to the homes in the U.K are considerably more cheaper. Lapland is known as one of the world’s last wildernesses where there is endless space, peace, clean air and remarkably good schools. The outdoor life so many crave in other countries is now enticing lots of people to Lapland. The outdoor life both in the summer months and winter months is fantastic. There isn’t just the normal skiing, husky dog sleds but lots of other activities such as cross country skiing which is traditional in Lapland amongst the locals and has been for years. The summer brings something completely new, with the weather warmer and the snow having long since gone, Lapland is transformed into a place of real beauty. The lakes and rivers in Lapland are in plentiful supply and that means that the fishing, walking and nature really come to life. Brown bears, Elk, wolverines and Lynx are amongst some of the animals found in Lapland.

I really hate them! It’s like twizzlers. Apart from I can give my licorice to people but I don’t know ANYONE who likes Swedish Fish. I get lots of it on halloween but nobody likes it. Do you like it or know anyone who likes it? Seriously I went to the store today and there was like a ton of it just piled up and all the other candy was gone apart from that.

Does the Swedish language have declensions like in German or Russian?
